We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Bookkeeper to join the dynamic finance team at Apex Financial Solutions. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate recording of transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and maintain financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow analyses.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax requirements.
- Process payroll and manage employee expenses using QuickBooks or Xero.
- Collaborate with the accounting manager to identify process improvements and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and MS Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Deep understanding of GAAP principles and general accounting practices.
- Experience with payroll processing and tax preparation (1099s, W-2s).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot discrepancies quickly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
