Immediate opening for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team in Oakland! We're seeking a meticulous professional to manage daily financial operations for our portfolio of Bay Area clients. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days/week in our downtown Oakland office, with full benefits and rapid career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 10-15 diverse clients using QuickBooks Online and Xero
- Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L reports
- Handle accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing
- Oversee sales tax filings and compliance with CA Franchise Tax Board requirements
- Collaborate with CPAs during quarterly audits and tax season
- Maintain organized digital filing systems and client document trails
- Implement process improvements for financial workflows
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks/Xero
- Associate's degree in Accounting or equivalent professional certification
- Proven track record with multi-client accounting systems
- Expertise in CA sales tax compliance and payroll processing
- Advanced Excel skills with proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in fast-paced environments
- Strong communication skills for client interactions
- Experience with construction or professional services industries preferred
