Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 diverse client portfolios including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements with variance analysis for C-suite executives
- Oversee month-end/year-end closing processes and coordinate with external auditors
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure financial compliance
- Lead cross-departmental financial planning meetings and provide actionable insights
- Maintain compliance with California-specific tax regulations and FASB standards
- Mentor junior bookkeeping staff and optimize accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel with VBA knowledge
- CPA certification or active pursuit preferred
- Deep understanding of California tax codes and multi-state payroll regulations
- Proven track record of managing complex financial reporting cycles
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail
- Strong communication abilities translating financial data for non-finance stakeholders
- Experience with accounting software implementation (e.g., NetSuite, Xero)
