Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Perform monthly and annual bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare and review financial statements, trial balances, and balance sheets for management reporting.
- Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Assist with the preparation of annual tax documents and support the external audit process.
- Monitor cash flow and assist in budget forecasting and variance analysis.
- Train and mentor junior accounting staff and ensure adherence to company accounting policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in bookkeeping or accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero, or Sage preferred) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions).
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Experience with payroll processing systems (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Paychex).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
