Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 small to medium businesses using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Process payroll bi-weekly using Gusto platform
- Handle accounts payable/receivable with 95%+ accuracy
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly
- Assist with quarterly tax preparation and annual audits
- Implement accounting controls to ensure compliance with GAAP
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Strong attention to detail with error rates <2%
- Ability to meet strict monthly deadlines
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions
- Familiarity with sales tax compliance (MA/NH/RI)
