Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage cash flow operations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis reports
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and state/federal tax regulations
- Collaborate with CPAs during quarterly audits and tax filings
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems (QuickBooks, Xero)
- Train junior staff on bookkeeping best practices and protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional bookkeeping with multi-client exposure
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel
- Proven experience with month-end closing processes
- Strong understanding of sales tax compliance (IL state)
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
- CPA or QuickBooks certification preferred
