Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for clients
- Manage payroll processing and tax compliance (multi-state experience a plus)
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Implement internal controls and process improvements
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and tax filings
- Train junior staff on accounting software best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of bookkeeping experience with nonprofit/government entities
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
- Excellent communication skills for client reporting
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor preferred
