Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records in compliance with GAAP and federal regulations
- Process accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations with precision
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for executive review
- Manage complex payroll processing for multi-state employees
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with external partners
- Implement and optimize QuickBooks for nonprofit accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance with 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
- Expert knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and DC tax regulations
- Proven experience with multi-state payroll processing (ADP/Paychex)
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
