Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and financial records for 15-20 clients using QuickBooks Online
- Process monthly bank reconciliations and credit card statements with 100% accuracy
- Prepare and file quarterly sales tax returns and year-end 1099 forms
- Generate financial statements (P&L, balance sheets) and variance analysis reports
- Manage accounts payable/receivable cycles and payroll processing
- Advise clients on cash flow optimization and bookkeeping best practices
- Collaborate with tax professionals during annual audits and tax seasons
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with small businesses
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation
- Deep understanding of GAAP and Michigan tax regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven error rates below 0.5%
- Strong communication skills for client consultations and team collaboration
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a remote/hybrid setting
