Responsibilities
- Manage Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Oversee the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Financial Reconciliation: Perform monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Lead the month-end close process, preparing journal entries and adjusting entries to ensure financial statements are accurate.
- Reporting & Analysis: Assist in the preparation of financial reports, variance analysis, and budget forecasting for management review.
- Compliance & Tax Support: Maintain compliance with local and federal regulations, including preparing payroll tax filings and supporting external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, implement new software, and optimize internal controls.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero (Sage and NetSuite are a plus).
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and accounting software.
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: CPA or CPA-eligible is a significant plus.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial data clearly.
