Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for 15-20 client portfolios including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow) with detailed variance analysis
- Maintain and update QuickBooks Online databases ensuring GAAP compliance
- Oversee sales tax filings and quarterly payroll tax submissions across multiple states
- Collaborate with CPAs during annual audits and provide supporting documentation
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency
- Train junior bookkeepers on proprietary financial software workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs)
- Proven track record managing multi-state payroll and sales tax compliance
- CPA certification or active pursuit strongly preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rates below 0.5%
- Experience with construction or manufacturing industry accounting a major plus
- Strong analytical skills with ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
