Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee daily bookkeeping operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity and identify discrepancies immediately.
- Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports to assist management in strategic planning.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and tax regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Payroll Support: Assist in processing payroll accurately and timely for all employees, including tax filings and deductions.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and software systems to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small to mid-sized business environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Experience with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) is required.
- Education: Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and financial analysis with a keen eye for detail.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Integrity: High level of professionalism and ethical standards in handling sensitive financial information.
