Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile monthly bank/credit card statements
- Process accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense reports using QuickBooks Online
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) with variance analysis
- Manage sales tax filings and ensure compliance with Tennessee state regulations
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes with journal entries adjustments
- Collaborate with CPAs during audits and provide supporting documentation
- Implement process improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Online
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Proven expertise in sales tax compliance for Tennessee businesses
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation a plus
- Exceptional attention to detail with error reconciliation skills
- Strong communication abilities for client-facing financial consultations
- Experience with construction or service industry accounting preferred
