Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers and reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll for 15+ clients
- Prepare monthly financial statements and quarterly tax documentation
- Implement QuickBooks solutions and optimize accounting workflows
- Conduct internal audits and ensure compliance with GAAP/FASB standards
- Collaborate with tax professionals during annual filing season
- Train junior bookkeepers on software and procedural best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks Pro/Premier
- Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance (Bachelor's preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, macros)
- CPA or Enrolled Agent certification highly desirable
- Experience with agricultural or small business accounting
- Proven track record of reducing month-end close time by 25%+
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations
- Familiarity with CA sales tax and payroll regulations
