Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations for 15+ diverse clients
- Prepare month-end financial statements (P&L, balance sheets) with variance analysis
- Oversee payroll processing and tax compliance using QuickBooks Online Advanced
- Implement internal controls to ensure SOX compliance and audit readiness
- Manage sales/use tax filings and quarterly business tax returns
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual reviews
- Train junior staff on accounting software and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience with multi-client portfolios
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, and Excel (VLOOKUP/PivotTables)
- Deep knowledge of California sales/use tax regulations and payroll compliance
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent professional certification (CPA/CPB preferred)
- Proven track record of reducing month-close cycles by 30%+
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail down to the cent
- Strong communication skills for client relationship management
