Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and reconcile monthly bank statements
- Process accounts payable/receivable and manage payroll for 15+ clients
- Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Oversee sales tax filings and ensure compliance with CA tax regulations
- Implement internal controls to prevent financial discrepancies
- Collaborate with CPA firms during quarterly audits
- Train junior bookkeepers on QuickBooks Online workflows
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience with California businesses
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (Advanced functions)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent certifications
- Deep knowledge of CA sales tax (BOE) and payroll regulations
- Proven experience with multi-entity accounting systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- CPA or EA certification preferred
- Excellent communication skills for client interactions
