Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile multi-currency accounts payable/receivable systems
- Prepare monthly management accounts and VAT returns using Xero/QuickBooks
- Oversee payroll processing and auto-enrolment pension schemes
- Conduct bank reconciliations and variance analysis for 20+ clients
- Assist in annual audits and HMRC compliance documentation
- Develop financial reporting dashboards for client decision-making
- Mentor junior bookkeepers and optimize financial workflows
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years UK bookkeeping experience with SMEs
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent accounting qualification essential
- Advanced proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and Excel
- Proven experience with multi-currency transactions
- Strong understanding of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with zero-error tolerance
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CIMA ACCA) highly desirable
