Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform comprehensive monthly bank reconciliations and variance analysis to maintain financial integrity.
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly and year-end closings.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements for client review.
- Maintain accurate digital and physical filing systems in strict adherence to compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimize processes and implement best practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Finance Assistant (minimum 3 years preferred).
- AAT Level 3 or equivalent professional qualification (ACCA/CIMA part-qualified is highly desirable).
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Deep understanding of UK tax laws, specifically VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet strict deadlines under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
