Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping processes including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for diverse industry clients
- Maintain and optimize QuickBooks Online systems with custom reporting solutions
- Oversee sales tax filings and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Collaborate with auditors during annual reviews and implement process improvements
- Support month-end closing procedures and provide financial insights to leadership
- Train junior bookkeepers on standardized accounting workflows
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience with QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and financial software
- Proven track record of managing multi-client portfolios in public accounting
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IRS regulations, and Maryland tax requirements
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and error prevention
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with competing deadlines
