Responsibilities
- Process complex medical claims across multiple insurance payers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial plans)
- Conduct comprehensive audits of billing documentation for CPT/ICD-10 compliance
- Resolve payment discrepancies and patient billing inquiries within SLA
- Optimize charge entry workflows using Epic EMR and Medisoft systems
- Collaborate with compliance team on HIPAA-maintained billing operations
- Generate monthly revenue cycle reports for executive stakeholders
- Mentor junior billing specialists on industry best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with NYC-based providers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC-A credential required
- Expertise in UB-04 and CMS-1500 claim forms
- Advanced proficiency in Excel with pivot table creation
- Experience with EHR systems (Epic or NextGen preferred)
- Strong knowledge of NY State Medicaid billing regulations
- Ability to process 50+ claims daily with 98%+ accuracy
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Finance
