Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end medical billing processes including claim submission, follow-up, and denial resolution
- Analyze complex insurance contracts to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to verify coding accuracy (ICD-10, CPT) and documentation
- Generate monthly revenue reports and identify opportunities for process improvement
- Act as primary liaison between patients, insurance providers, and healthcare facilities
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient billing records and confidentiality protocols
- Train junior staff on billing systems and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- 5+ years of medical billing experience with RCM systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS)
- Expert knowledge of HIPAA, CMS, and CA Medicaid billing regulations
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and billing software (e.g., Athena, AdvancedMD)
- Proven track record of reducing denial rates by 15%+
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field
