Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance providers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Conduct thorough account receivable follow-ups and resolve payment discrepancies
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits pre-service
- Manage denial analysis and appeal processes for rejected claims
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and billing regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and documentation
- Generate monthly billing reports for financial review
- Train junior billing staff on system workflows and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of medical billing experience with insurance claims
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Medisoft)
- Strong analytical skills for identifying billing trends and anomalies
- Exceptional attention to detail with 99%+ claims accuracy
- Ability to manage high-volume accounts in fast-paced environment
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
