Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with variance reporting
- Maintain accurate general ledger entries and support quarterly/year-end audits
- Implement and optimize accounting software systems for operational efficiency
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and Illinois state tax regulations
- Collaborate with senior leadership on financial forecasting and budget planning
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping experience in Illinois
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (VLOOKUP/Pivot Tables)
- Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or QuickBooks ProAdvisor preferred
- Demonstrated experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder reporting
- Experience in public accounting or financial services industry
