Apex Financial Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our vendor relationships remain strong and our financial records are accurate.
As a remote Accounts Payable Specialist, you will work from the comfort of your home office in the Indianapolis area, managing the full cycle of accounts payable operations. We are looking for a candidate who is self-motivated, tech-savvy, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of financial compliance.
Responsibilities
- Invoice Processing: Review, code, and process vendor invoices in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all supporting documentation is complete.
- Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors regarding invoice inquiries, discrepancies, and payment status.
- Reconciliation: Reconcile vendor statements and bank statements to ensure accuracy and resolve any outstanding balances.
- Reporting: Generate and analyze AP reports to provide insights into cash flow, spending patterns, and outstanding liabilities.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Compliance: Adhere to internal controls, company policies, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable or General Ledger accounting.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online or NetSuite; experience with Oracle or SAP is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and comfortable working in cloud-based accounting software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
- Education: Associate degree or Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
