As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our finance department, ensuring our books are accurate and our reporting is timely.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely processing and accurate recording.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and balance sheets in compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Oversee the weekly payroll processing, ensuring all statutory deductions (PAYE, NICs) are calculated correctly.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts on a weekly basis to identify discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of year-end audit files and tax returns in collaboration with external auditors.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and manage inventory valuation.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT (Fully or part-qualified).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar finance role within the UK.
- Proven experience with weekly payroll processing and UK tax legislation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage 50, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and experience with ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
