Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations in line with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial laws, regulations, and internal controls.
- Process payroll and ensure timely and accurate tax submissions (PAYE/NI).
- Conduct regular audits and variance analysis to identify financial trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimize cash flow and budget forecasting.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or AAT qualified (or equivalent professional qualification).
- Proven experience in a similar Senior Accountant role within the UK financial sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax laws, VAT regulations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
