Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, balance sheets, and profit & loss reports in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Reconciliation: Perform accurate daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and ensure all financial practices remain compliant.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for financial process optimization and implement efficient accounting workflows.
- Audit Support: Assist external auditors during quarterly and annual audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Team Collaboration: Mentor junior accountants and collaborate with the finance department to forecast budgets and manage expenses.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (CPA/MBA) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage; advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) are essential.
- Certifications: Active CPA license or CMA certification is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure precision in high-volume data processing.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
