Responsibilities
- Manage General Ledger: Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict compliance with GAAP standards.
- Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department to enhance operational efficiency.
- Payroll Assistance: Assist in payroll processing and ensure proper expense reporting and reimbursement workflows.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or high-growth environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Sage).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of US GAAP and relevant federal tax regulations.
