Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting functions, including month-end and year-end closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Handle VAT returns, corporation tax, and payroll compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Lead the annual audit process and assist external auditors as required.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risk.
- Collaborate with the finance team to optimize budgeting and forecasting processes.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified or part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) Accountant.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the UK finance sector.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax legislation, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial data clearly.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
