Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements with meticulous attention to detail
- Manage complex reconciliations across multiple accounts and systems
- Lead audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors
- Develop and implement financial forecasting models for strategic planning
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and Illinois financial statutes
- Mentor junior accounting staff and process improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to support business objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sectors
- Expertise in GAAP compliance and financial reporting standards
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (SAP/Oracle experience)
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Proven track record of meeting tight deadlines in high-volume environments
- Excellent communication skills with ability to present to executive stakeholders
- Illinois CPA license required
