Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Perform complex account reconciliations and variance analysis to support management decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecast models.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and internal controls.
- Lead and mentor junior accounting staff, providing training and guidance.
- Conduct internal audits and assist external auditors during the annual audit process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
