Are you a detail-oriented finance professional seeking a flexible, remote opportunity? Apex Finance Partners is looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our growing team. Based in the United Kingdom, this role offers the autonomy of remote work while managing critical financial operations for our diverse portfolio of clients.
In this pivotal position, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure strict compliance with UK tax regulations. You will be the backbone of our finance department, driving efficiency and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss accounts, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely reporting.
- Manage the reconciliation of bank accounts, credit cards, and inter-company transactions.
- Ensure full compliance with UK tax laws, including VAT and Corporation Tax filings.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Conduct internal audits and review financial processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support senior management decision-making.
Qualifications
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a similar accounting role within a UK-based organization.
- Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet tight deadlines.
