Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United Kingdom while contributing to our growing portfolio of clients.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and ensuring full compliance with UK tax legislation and financial regulations. You will act as a key advisor to the management team, providing insights into financial performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy of all balance sheet and profit & loss accounts.
- Prepare statutory financial statements in strict accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS standards.
- Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
- Conduct variance analysis and produce detailed financial reports for senior stakeholders.
- Oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts and intercompany transactions.
- Ensure all internal controls and financial policies are strictly adhered to.
Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification (fully qualified).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a UK-based accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws, including Corporation Tax and PAYE.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data clearly.
