Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process optimization
- Prepare and review financial statements ensuring compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning
- Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure financial integrity and regulatory compliance
- Lead audit processes and coordinate with external auditors for smooth examinations
- Mentor junior accountants and contribute to continuous improvement of accounting workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with public or corporate finance teams
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and ERP systems (Sage 100 or NetSuite a plus)
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and Nebraska state tax regulations
- Exceptional analytical skills with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Proven track record of improving financial processes and driving operational efficiency
- Strong communication skills with ability to present financial information to stakeholders
- Remote work experience with demonstrated ability to self-manage and meet deadlines
