Role Overview
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial reports, maintaining internal controls, and supporting various accounting functions. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analyses for management review.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of annual tax filings and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct internal audits of financial data and recommend process improvements.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or remote environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) and accounting software (SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, internal controls, and auditing principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
