Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and ensure accurate general ledger reconciliation.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local legal and regulatory requirements, assisting in internal and external audits.
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Collaborate with management to develop budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans to support business growth.
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to maintain accurate cash flow records.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist the accounting manager with year-end tax preparations and filings.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or a related field.
- Software Proficiency: Expertise in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial regulations, and financial analysis principles.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Independence: Self-motivated individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a remote work environment.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and ability to detect discrepancies in financial records.
