Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting operations including month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting
- Prepare and analyze financial statements ensuring GAAP compliance
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable processes and cash flow management
- Collaborate with auditors during tax season and annual reviews
- Implement process improvements for accounting efficiency
- Maintain compliance with federal/state regulations (IL and NC)
- Mentor junior accounting staff on best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance (CPA/MBA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software
- Experience with multi-state tax regulations (IL/NC knowledge a plus)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for client/stakeholder interactions
- Proven track record of process optimization
- Remote work experience required
