Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely monthly and annual financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analyses, and budget forecasts to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure strict compliance with GAAP, IRS regulations, and internal company policies.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes efficiently and accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and review their work for accuracy and completeness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards and internal controls.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
