As the Night Shift Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of our financial records and supporting our core accounting functions. Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for the night shift cycle, ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and timely.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and variance analysis to maintain the integrity of our financial statements.
- Prepare and post journal entries, adjusting entries, and accruals for the upcoming financial reporting period.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, providing insights into night shift operational costs.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance checks to adhere to GAAP and internal control policies.
- Process payroll adjustments and manage the general ledger maintenance during off-hours.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to resolve outstanding discrepancies and ensure seamless operational continuity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a preference for candidates with night shift or operational finance experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA certification is a significant plus).
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and reconciliation procedures.
- Must be available to work a consistent night shift schedule (e.g., 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM or 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM).
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams.
