Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and reported in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow analyses for senior management.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by monitoring and filing necessary tax returns and reports.
- Assist in the budget preparation process and provide variance analysis to management.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely processing of invoices and collections.
- Implement and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong preference for candidates in the financial services industry.
- Proven expertise in financial reporting, reconciliation, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
