Responsibilities
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, variance analysis, and operational reports for executive leadership.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring all transactions comply with GAAP and internal policies.
- Assist with the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and providing necessary documentation.
- Streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.
- Support tax preparation activities and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or CPA certification is a strong plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
