Apex Global Logistics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in the heart of Milwaukee. In this role, you will go beyond basic bookkeeping, leveraging your expertise to drive process improvements and strategic financial planning.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily, monthly, and year-end accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports and tax documentation in collaboration with external auditors.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and provide actionable insights to management.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to process optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required; CPA or CMA certification is a strong plus.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of US GAAP and federal tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
