Responsibilities
- General Ledger Management: Oversee the daily operations of the general ledger, ensuring all journal entries are accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP standards.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze complex financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Reconciliation: Perform thorough reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card statements, and intercompany accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage the end-to-end process of accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure the company complies with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Assist in internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budget preparation process and assist in the development of annual financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. Master’s degree (MBA) is a plus.
- Certification: CPA certification or current eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros) are essential.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of US GAAP and tax compliance requirements.
