Role Overview:
As an Accountant, you will be the backbone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all reporting processes. You will work closely with our management team to provide actionable financial data that drives business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements on a monthly and annual basis.
- General Ledger Management: Perform month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all journal entries are recorded accurately and in compliance with GAAP.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the full cycle of AP and AR, including processing invoices, issuing payments, and collecting receivables in a timely manner.
- Payroll Administration: Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring all deductions and tax filings are handled correctly.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all financial activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations; assist in internal and external audits as required.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement best practices for efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Certification: CPA, CMA, or EA certification is a strong plus but not mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of professional accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, macros).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Reliability: Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
