Responsibilities
- Manage the full-cycle bookkeeping and financial reporting for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts in strict accordance with UK GAAP and HMRC regulations.
- Prepare and file VAT returns and manage corporation tax computations.
- Assist with year-end statutory audits and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to support strategic business decisions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within the accounting software.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within a practice or high-volume commercial environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks).
- Deep understanding of UK tax legislation, including VAT and Corporation Tax.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote and office-based team.
