Location: Detroit, MI (On-site/Hybrid)
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in strict compliance with GAAP standards.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and assist with external audits.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and inter-company accounts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or NetSuite).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
