Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and quarter-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements with attention to GAAP compliance
- Oversee accounts payable/receivable functions and process complex transactions
- Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful financial reporting to leadership
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial reviews
- Implement and improve accounting systems and internal controls
- Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in public/private sector
- Expert proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting software
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proven experience with month-end closing processes
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
