Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, including sales and use tax.
- Process Optimization: Streamline accounting processes and internal controls to improve operational efficiency and reduce errors.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist the Finance Manager in preparing annual budgets and performing variance analysis to track financial performance.
- Payroll Support: Review and approve payroll entries to ensure accurate compensation processing.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Certification: CPA or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems; strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Macros).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy and integrity.
