Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-month and year-end financial close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and review complex financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with UK tax legislation, VAT regulations, and accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
- Oversee the general ledger, including journal entries and accruals, to maintain financial integrity.
- Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and manage external audit requirements.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and supervise a small team of junior accountants and finance staff.
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role within the UK.
- Strong working knowledge of UK tax laws, payroll procedures, and statutory reporting.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage).
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-finance stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
