Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial statements are accurate and reported in a timely manner.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Prepare and analyze complex financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements for management review.
- Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process by providing variance analysis and recommendations for cost control.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and oversee the depreciation schedules in compliance with company policy.
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws and financial regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a corporate environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
